TalentSourcer Local

Download and use local execution with your Codex or Claude subscription.

TalentSourcer Local is a macOS menu-bar app that runs supported TalentSourcer AI work through your authenticated Codex or Claude Code subscription.

Download TalentSourcer Local for macOS

The universal installer supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

What runs locally

TalentSourcer Local currently supports:

  • Company analysis
  • Final candidate evaluation against a briefing

Candidate and company source-data enrichment still happens in the TalentSourcer cloud. The supported AI analysis runs on your Mac, and your Codex or Claude credentials remain on your device.

Before you install

You need:

  • A TalentSourcer AI account
  • A Mac
  • Codex or Claude Code installed and authenticated on that Mac

For Codex, complete its normal sign-in flow or run codex login. For Claude Code, launch claude and complete its authentication flow.

At least one of these runtimes must be authenticated before local jobs can run.

Install the app

  1. Download the latest DMG using the button above.
  2. Open the downloaded DMG.
  3. Drag TalentSourcer Local into Applications.
  4. Open TalentSourcer Local from Applications.
  5. Complete the TalentSourcer authorization flow in your browser.
  6. Return to TalentSourcer Local and confirm at least one runtime shows Enabled.

The app is signed and notarized by Apple. It stays available in the macOS menu bar and can launch automatically when you sign in to your Mac.

Configure local execution

Open TalentSourcer Local to configure:

  • Which runtime handles company analysis
  • Which runtime handles candidate evaluation
  • Model and reasoning defaults supported by each runtime
  • Automatic or manual parallel-job capacity
  • Launch at login and pause behavior

Automatic parallel jobs use detected plan and usage signals when available. Manual mode supports one to eight concurrent jobs.

Settings apply to newly claimed jobs and do not change an active job.

Run candidate checks locally

  1. Keep TalentSourcer Local running on your Mac.
  2. Open a project search in the TalentSourcer web app.
  3. Select the candidates you want to check.
  4. Click Check Candidates.
  5. Select a briefing.
  6. Under AI execution, select Local device.
  7. Review the credits needed and click Start Check.

When your Mac is online and ready, Local device is selected by default. Use Cloud when you want to run through your workspace's configured cloud model instead.

You can monitor current and recent local jobs in TalentSourcer Local. Results appear in TalentSourcer AI in the same place as cloud candidate checks.

For the full candidate-check workflow, see Candidate Checks.

Credits

Local execution follows BYOK candidate-check pricing:

Check typeCredits
New candidate check1
Existing recent check0

The candidate recency window still applies. TalentSourcer shows the total before you submit the checks.

Local execution uses your authenticated local subscription rather than a cloud provider key configured by your workspace. To understand cloud provider keys and routing, see BYOK and AI Cost Controls.

If your Mac is offline

If you select Local device while the Mac is offline, TalentSourcer lets you:

  • Queue the work for up to 12 hours while the device reconnects
  • Explicitly switch to Cloud, when cloud execution is configured
  • Cancel the run

TalentSourcer never silently moves a local run to the cloud.

Pause and resume

Choose Pause processing from the menu-bar app or use Pause in the app window. Pausing stops new jobs from being claimed. Jobs already running are allowed to finish.

Only one Mac can be active for your TalentSourcer user at a time. If another Mac is already connected, choose Replace active Mac to make the current device active.

Updates

TalentSourcer Local checks for updates automatically and downloads them in the background. You can also choose Check for Updates… from the menu-bar menu.

When an update is ready:

  • With no active jobs, choose Restart and update.
  • With active jobs, choose Install when jobs finish.

The app pauses new claims, waits for active jobs to finish, installs the update, and restores your previous pause or resume state after restart.

Troubleshooting

Local device is unavailable in the web app

Check that:

  • TalentSourcer Local is open on the same Mac
  • The app is not paused or showing an error
  • Codex or Claude Code is installed and authenticated
  • The Mac has an internet connection

Run Diagnostic from TalentSourcer Local after fixing authentication or installation issues.

A runtime needs attention

Open the runtime directly and complete its sign-in flow. Then run the diagnostic again. TalentSourcer Local automatically detects supported installations in common native, Homebrew, nodenv, and nvm locations.

The app says another Mac is active

Only one personal device can be active at a time. Choose Replace active Mac if you want this Mac to receive future local work.

An update does not install immediately

The app will not restart while local jobs are active. Pause processing and wait for the current jobs to finish, or leave the app running until it installs the downloaded update safely.
